2023 Grand Parade Marshal of the Independence Day Parade

Gail Hughey has worked for West Branch-Rose City Area Schools for over 30 years. She began her career as a Special Education teacher at Surline Elementary School.  She later became principal at Surline and is now Superintendent. She is honored to be representing our schools and communities and truly believes that strong schools, build strong communities.Gail is a member of St. Joseph Church, Rayola, WBRC Educational Support Partnership, North Central Michigan Community Foundation (Ogemaw County), and the board of directors for MyMichigan Eastern Region. Gail currently resides in West Branch.  She enjoys spending time walking, biking, and kayaking around Ogemaw County with her husband and four sons.
