This one-day course lets you explore the art and science of home beer brewing. Local brewer Matt Bierman will lead you through the entire process. Matt is a seasoned veteran of both beer and wine production and will show how to produce your own homemade beer entirely from scratch. Introduction to Beer Brewing CEC 16260 explores the essential facets of home beer production. Learn about the entire brewing process, how to obtain brewing equipment, blending ingredients and brewing beer using the exact materials that larger brewers use. The batch size and process in this course are optimized for the individual brewer. The course is geared to new and experienced extract-based brewers. You will learn how to take the next step and brew from basic raw ingredients. Information on the technical aspects of brewing and the science behind the process are covered. This is an all-encompassing course that takes you from start to finish. It may be the only course you ever take that include samples of beer and pizza for lunch.
